Introduction
Flame Seal introduces Fabric Seal S, a revolutionary solution designed specifically as a fire retardant for synthetic fabric. Fabric Seal S is engineered to provide exceptional protection against fire hazards for a wide range of synthetic materials. Its unique formulation makes it an ideal choice for industries and applications where safety is paramount, particularly in companies utilizing synthetic textiles.
Fabric Seal S™ Synthetic Fibers (FS-S™)is an application ready, water-based fire retardant for synthetic textiles. FS-S™ is mix of proprietary ingredients, which forms a carbon char when the treated fabric is exposed to fire. Once the carbon char is formed there will be minimal flame propagation, smoke evolution or afterglow. The product is designed for interior use only.

Application Instructions
FS-S™ can be applied via spray, dipping or machine application. The recommended coverage rate is 300 ft2 per gallon. Most synthetic fabrics properly treated with this product will meet the NFPA 701 requirements, FAR 25.853, British Standards 5852 (1, 2) and UFAC. The mechanism by which Fabric Seal N™ works is that water soluble fire retardant chemicals are carried into the fabric as a liquid and left behind upon evaporation of the water. As such, the fabric must be water penetrable to be treatable. Excess fire retardant may be removed by mechanical methods (wrings, rollers, spin cycle, etc.). However, the removal of excess liquid must be controlled so as to not remove too much liquid, or the fabric may become under-treated. Finish by simply allowing to air dry or force dry with heat. It is recommended that a small sample be tested for penetration and color fastness before application. Excess fire retardant should be removed by mechanical action (wringing or spin cycle). Then allow to air dry or force dry with a mechanical dryer. This product may be used on: carpet, sraperies, furniture, wall coverings, rayon, polyester, most synthetics and blends. FS-S™ contains water-soluble ingredients that can be removed by exposure to significant amounts of water during cleaning. It is recommended that the fabric be re-treated with FS-S™ after dry cleaning three times or one machine washing.

Fire Retardant Features
Technical Characteristics
Water-based fire retardant penetrant.
Designed for use on most types of synthetic fabrics including cotton and many blends.
Colorless, non-staining, inert, non-conductive, odorless, and neutrally charged.
The proprietary active ingredients of these products contribute to flame resistance by melting below flaming temperatures and then re-solidifying into a crystalline form of a carbon (char) that acts as a barrier between the fabric surface and the flame.
Fire Retardant Advantages and Performance Characteristics
Consists of aqueous solutions containing a blend of proprietary active ingredients.
No polybrominated diphenyl ethers are in the composition.
Will decrease fire and smoke evolution, providing resistance to flameless combustion, referred to as afterglow.
Properly applied to fabrics, when exposed to heat and flame, FS-S™ forms a carbon char that resists fire, heat, and smoke.
Fire Retardant Benefits
Free of PBDE’s and Non-Toxic.
Non-staining.
Reduces the effect of Heat and Smoke without Flame propagation.
Easy and Flexible Product Applications.
No Halogen Donor Required.
